Resolve SQL Service Not Starting on Windows 10

We still don’t recommend running mPower Beverage on Windows 10 due to some ongoing Windows 10 issues and because mPower has not yet been audited for PA-DSS on Windows 10. However, some customers have had computers that automatically updated Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10. If that is you, mPower Beverage will still run on the Windows 10 operating system. However, we have found that Windows 10 doesn’t always start the SQL Service when the computer is restarted. We recommend the steps below if you find this issue in your business.

To begin, click the “Start” menu, then type “services” and select the Services Desktop App.

Then, find “SQL Server”, right click on it and select “Properties”

Change the Startup type under the “General” tab to “Automatic (Delayed Start).”

Second (and final step), change the First Failure under the “Recovery” tab to “Restart the Service.”
